As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the production activities of a medium-sized bakery manufacturing plant, ensuring the safe and efficient production of high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of production workers to achieve production goals and objectives
  • Oversee all production activities, including scheduling, inventory management, and quality control
  • Collaborate with the Production Manager to develop and implement process improvements
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards
  • Develop and maintain a culture of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing practices

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in a supervisory role, with at least 3 years in a high-speed bakery manufacturing environment
  • Bread or buns experience required, with experience working with ovens and large-scale bakery equipment
  • Understanding of the baking process, including the function of ingredients, time, and temperature
  • Ability to work 2nd and/or 3rd shift, with willingness to relocate
  • Union management experience preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Continuous Improvement/Lean Manufacturing experience
  • AIB training
  • BRC/SQF knowledge
