Key Responsibilities- Facility Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, painting, and repairing facilities and equipment.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and repair a variety of equipment including small power tools, turf equipment, and motor vehicles.
- Plumbing, Masonry, Electrical, and HVAC: Perform basic plumbing, masonry, electrical, and HVAC tasks as needed.
- Light Construction: Assist with light construction projects such as building repairs and renovations.
- Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve common goals and objectives.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
- Adaptability: Be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Two-year program in building construction technology or related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in maintenance or related field. Experience in parks and recreation and/or maintenance certifications desirable.
- Skills: Possess mechanical ability, skilled in the use of small power tools, and able to maintain small power and hand tools. Knowledge of safe operation practices and maintenance of various tools, turf equipment, and motor vehicles.
- Physical Demands: Frequent walking, reaching with hands and arms, climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting while performing job duties. Exposure to moving mechanical parts. Must be able to routinely lift fifty pounds of weight without assistance.
Work exposes the employee to adverse weather conditions and hazards associated with traffic, electricity, chemicals, and fumes. Protective equipment is required such as gloves, safety glasses, clothing, and boots.
