Pediatric Vascular Access Nurse
Job Summary:
Oklahoma Children's Hospital is seeking a skilled Pediatric Vascular Access Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of experience in nursing with a focus on PICC line placement and a strong passion for delivering exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Provides PICC line placement and infusion education to patients and families.
- Consults with medical staff on special patient cases requiring PICC line placement and instruction.
- Develops and implements treatment plans for patients and their families.
- Serves as a resource for medical and hospital staff on PICC placement and education.
- Collaborates with the healthcare team to manage complications and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients and documents their responses to nursing interventions and medical treatments.
- Obtains and monitors physiological data, observes and intervenes in physiological manifestations, and interacts with patients and families regarding care plans.
- Refers patient care needs to appropriate personnel when necessary.
Requirements:
- Current RN license issued by a state board of nursing or a multi-state compact RN license (eNLC).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications from the American Heart Association.
- Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited program.
- Successful completion of a vascular access device selection, insertion, and management online course within six months of hire.
- Knowledge of nursing role in PICC line placement and ability to work in a team environment.
