Economic Research Fellow Program

We offer paid, in-residence fellowships for graduate Ph.D. students to conduct research at the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, D.C. Fellows work on a topic of their own choosing, usually furthering dissertation research begun before the fellowship, and give 1-2 seminars on their work.
Salary and BenefitsThe estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $70,000 per year, based on the location and the level of experience required. Fellows also receive a stipend for living expenses and have access to our extensive seminar series and collaboration opportunities with Board economists.
ResponsibilitiesFellows will be responsible for conducting research and giving seminars on their work. They will also be expected to participate in our seminar series and collaborate with Board economists.
RequirementsTo be eligible for this fellowship, applicants must be current Ph.D. students graduating fall 2025 or later. They must also be legally authorized to work in the United States, and citizenship may be considered.
