Position: Offset Press Operator

Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled Offset Press Operator to become a vital part of our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for the setup and operation of the offset printing press, ensuring that all output meets our high-quality standards.

Key Duties:

  • Replace press components such as plates, blankets, and cylinders as necessary.
  • Alert the Team Lead regarding any quality control issues.
  • Operate the press at optimal speeds to fulfill production requirements.
  • Make necessary adjustments to the machine to maximize efficiency.
  • Communicate job progress and any production-related concerns during shift changes to maintain workflow.
  • Maintain cleanliness of ink fountains, plates, and other units as required.
  • Conduct regular quality inspections on all printing components to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Recalibrate machinery as needed to maintain performance.
  • Collaborate with the Team Lead to address any operational concerns.
  • Adhere to safety protocols at all times.
  • Accurately document job counts, make-readies, and waste as directed.
  • Identify defects in printed materials and implement necessary corrections.
  • Set up the press and ensure quality is maintained throughout the production run.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Previous experience in offset printing as a pressman is preferred.
  • Ability to monitor and assess production equipment for speed and quality.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting job specifications.
  • Able to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Familiarity with mechanical operations and production workflows.
  • Competent in operating both computer systems and mechanical equipment.
  • Physical capability to handle job requirements, including lifting up to 45 pounds intermittently.
