We are seeking a highly qualified Lecturer in Music Theory and Musicianship to join our team at the University of California San Diego. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate students, leading required upper-division courses in music theory, and assessing student work.
Key Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate students in music theory and musicianship
- Develop and implement curriculum for upper-division courses
- Assess student work and provide feedback
- Meet with students outside of class in office hours and/or appointments
- Demonstrated track record of teaching classes in a university setting for at least 1 year
- ABD for PhD or DMA status in Music or relevant topic
- Experience teaching large scale classes in a university setting
- Experience teaching upper-division courses in music theory
- Expertise in jazz and popular music
