Pediatric Specialty Care is in search of a skilled and compassionate Pediatric Respiratory Care Specialist for Part-Time opportunities.

Part-Time Sign-on Bonus: $5,000

Available Shifts:

  • Night Shift (7:00pm-7:30am)

Position Status:

  • Part-time: Two 12-hour shifts weekly - Self-Scheduling Benefit eligible.

The Pediatric Respiratory Care Specialist is responsible for delivering exceptional care to clinically complex pediatric residents in a supportive environment. This role involves evaluating individuals' ventilator weaning and respiratory rehabilitation potential to ensure their health and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Functions of the Pediatric Respiratory Care Specialist:

  1. Conducts thorough evaluations of the needs of ventilator and respiratory clients.
  2. Identifies individual challenges and needs through continuous collection of objective and subjective data.
  3. Consults with the attending physician regarding treatment protocols and provides written recommendations for interdisciplinary care planning.
  4. Contributes to the development, maintenance, and evaluation of individualized care plans.
  5. Ensures respiratory care interventions align with the care plan and adhere to established standards.
  6. Maintains accurate documentation reflecting the care plan and the individual's response to interventions.
  7. Identifies issues and formulates comprehensive care plans in accordance with facility policies and regulations.
  8. Documents evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with policies.
  9. Administers prescribed medications and treatments according to approved respiratory techniques.
  10. Initiates ventilator weaning protocols and/or respiratory rehabilitation as per physician's orders.
  11. Monitors lab values and other relevant data as part of the care process.
  12. Communicates pertinent information to coworkers and interdisciplinary team members.
  13. Provides training to new staff and caregivers on respiratory equipment and procedures.
  14. Participates in in-service training programs for personnel involved in direct care.
  15. Utilizes electronic timekeeping systems as directed.
  16. Maintains punctuality and adherence to the dress code.
  17. Supports and adheres to Pediatric Specialty Care's Mission, Vision, and Values.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of an Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited institution; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Active, unencumbered state Respiratory Therapist license in the state of practice. Registered or Certified Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care.
  • Valid CPR certification from an AHA Healthcare provider.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age at applicable locations.

This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors. To ensure a safe work environment and facilitate effective communication, the employee must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or advanced level.
