As an Automotive Damage Appraiser with CGR-28 Anderson Greer, LLC, you will be responsible for examining damaged vehicles to determine the extent of structural, body, mechanical, or interior damage. Your expertise will be crucial in estimating the cost of labor and parts to repair or replace each damaged item, ensuring accurate and efficient claim settlements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of damaged vehicles to assess the extent of damage.
- Estimate the cost of repairs, including labor and parts, to ensure accurate claim settlements.
- Collaborate with body shop managers and foremen to review and finalize repair cost estimates.
- Resolve any discrepancies or disagreements with managers or foremen through additional appraisals.
- Evaluate the feasibility of repair versus replacement of damaged parts, such as bumpers, fenders, and doors.
- Determine the practicality of repair versus payment of vehicle market value before the accident.
- Calculate salvage value on total vehicle loss.
- Prepare insurance forms to indicate repair cost estimates and recommendations.
- Estimate the cost of repainting, converting to special purposes, or customizing undamaged vehicles.
- Follow up with customers on vehicle process.
- Assist in workflow and quality control.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One to three months of related experience and/or training.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
