Job Summary

The Pharmacy Technician II plays a vital role in the pharmacy department, working under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist to perform technical tasks. Responsibilities may include medication preparation, compounding, dispensing, inventory control, unit dose prepackaging, and basic computer system operations. This position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fills and delivers/dispenses medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  • Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician scope of practice to the staff pharmacist or supervisor as needed.
  • Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED Required.
  • Post High School Diploma or Certificate Program completion of a pharmacy technician training program, preferred.
  • 1-3 years At least one year of pharmacy technician in a healthcare or retail setting Required.
  • CPHT-Certified Pharmacy Technician - PTCB - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board Required.
  • PHAT-Licensed Pharmacy Technician - DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies Required.
