The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality management, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the food manufacturing industry. Key responsibilities include ensuring sterilization practices are in place across the supply chain, reviewing and enhancing the HACCP program, and leading a team to protect the business and its customers. The successful candidate will also be responsible for internal audits, bi-annual mock-recalls, and third-party audits. Additionally, they will establish quality and reliability standards, establish raw material standards, and maintain product quality by enforcing quality assurance policies and procedures. The Food Safety Manager will also be responsible for maintaining a robust crisis management program and ensuring all affected personnel are well-trained on specific roles. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as quality management, food science, or engineering, and will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and develop effective solutions. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence internal and external stakeholders. Knowledge of industry regulations and standards, such as GFSI, FDA, and GMP, is also required. HACCP and PCQI certification is strongly preferred.
