The Department of the Interior (DOI) is dedicated to safeguarding America's natural resources and cultural heritage, while also supporting our tribal communities and ensuring energy resources for the future. The Cyber Security Division within the DOI's Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) is tasked with the critical mission of defending DOI's information systems against a landscape of evolving cyber threats.
The Cybersecurity Branch is committed to the continuous improvement of its cybersecurity capabilities to effectively counteract emerging threats.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree is mandatory.
- Experience: A minimum of 6 years in the field is required.
- Expertise: Proficient in computer and network forensics.
- Assessments: Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing across the IT infrastructure.
- Intrusion Management: Identify, deter, and investigate computer and network breaches.
- Forensic Support: Provide forensic analysis and evidence collection for investigations, including data recovery.
- Continuous Learning: Develop and maintain expertise in trends, tools, techniques, and countermeasures related to computer and network vulnerabilities, data concealment, and encryption.
- Performance Evaluation: Apply comprehensive knowledge to key tasks and high-impact assignments, assessing performance outcomes and recommending improvements for project success.
