Voca is seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join our team on a local contract basis in Lewes, Delaware.
Key Responsibilities- Perform computerized axial tomography procedures in accordance with established professional and departmental standards and procedures.
- Review consultation requests, checking for special instructions and consult with radiologists as necessary.
- Obtain patient history for correlation with scan and ensure billing codes match the exam performed.
- Begin and end procedures, document scans, and complete relevant paperwork.
- Provide radiation protection to patients, staff, and self according to prescribed standards.
- Perform routine CT scan procedures according to established protocols and evaluate scans for technical quality.
- Demonstrate anatomy under investigation and identify and communicate problems to immediate supervisors.
- Recognize emergency situations, initiate code procedures, and administer first aid or CPR as needed.
- Complete follow-up documentation, such as contrast reaction forms and safety tracking tools.
- Assist radiologists with CT-guided drainages and biopsies.
- Verify patient consent and understand risks, benefits, alternatives, and follow-up procedures.
- Prepare and administer contrast media according to department policies and procedures.
- Evaluate lab values prior to administering contrast media and beginning interventional procedures.
- Stock supplies, monitor, and report shortages and special order items.
- Keep work areas clean and neat, maintain daily equipment logs, and demonstrate a working knowledge of radiology PC software programs.
