Computed Tomography Technologist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced CT Technologist to join our team at Mitchell Martin. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing computerized axial tomography procedures in accordance with established professional and departmental standards and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Review consultation requests, checking for special instructions and consult with the Radiologist as necessary.
- Obtain patient history for correlation with scan.
- Ensure that billing codes match the exam that was done.
- Begin and end procedures and document scans all relevant paperwork.
- Completely follow through with urgent add-on requests.
- Pleasantly greet patients, confirming their identification and introducing yourself.
- Completely explain examination procedure to the patient and their family if present.
- Provide radiation protection to patients, staff and self according to prescribed standards.
- Perform all routine CT Scan procedures according to established protocols.
- Evaluate the scan for technical quality. Demonstrate anatomy under investigation.
- Demonstrate a complete working knowledge of all equipment located within the CT department.
- Perform visual preventative safety inspections.
- Identify and communicate problems to immediate supervisor.
- Recognize emergency situations, initiate code procedures and administer first aid or CPR as needed.
- Complete needed follow-up documentation such as contrast reaction forms, extravasation reports and Safety Tracking Tools.
- Assist radiologists with CT guided drainages and biopsies.
- Verify that patient has consented to the procedure and understands the risks, benefits, alternatives and follow up.
- Prepare and administer contrast media according to department policies and procedures.
- Evaluate lab values as required prior to administering contrast media and beginning interventional procedures.
- Be competent in aseptic technique and properly label and handle multi dose containers.
- Be IV competent.
- Stock supplies, monitor and report supplies in shortage and special order items.
- Keep work area clean and neat. Maintain daily equipment logs.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of Radiology PC software programs such as Novius, Invision.
- Document Scanning.
- Be able to access and order patient exams in Invision if necessary.
- Seek out educational opportunities.
- Share new knowledge with others.
- Be willing to learn.
- Volunteer for special assignments.
- Associates Degree in related field required - Radiologic Technology.
- ARRT-CT - Computed Tomography. Required.
- BLS - Basic Life Saving certification. Required.
- One year CAT Scan experience preferred. Must complete Point of Care Testing training as part of Department Orientation.
- Clear Communication Skills Both Written And Verbal.
- Able To Keep Confidential Information Regarding Patients, Team Members.
- Able To Withstand Crisis Situations.
- Has Skills To Provides Customer Service To Patients, Team Members And Visitors.
- Knowledge And Experience With Electronic Health Records.
