Position Overview
Nuvance Health is looking for a dedicated and skilled Chemotherapy Infusion Nurse to enhance our oncology outpatient services. This role is integral to our healthcare team, ensuring that patients receive top-notch care during their chemotherapy infusion treatments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement nursing best practices, including assessment, planning, execution, and evaluation of patient care.
- Administer medications and IV solutions in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
- Evaluate the educational needs of patients and their families, providing tailored instruction and assessing the effectiveness of the education provided.
- Engage in departmental activities and committees, contributing to continuous professional development and maintaining educational records.
- Facilitate patient care by collaborating with team members and taking on leadership roles as needed.
- Perform additional duties as required to support the department's operations.
Qualifications:
Required: Current RN license in Connecticut. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred. Experience in Medical-Surgical Nursing, Oncology, and IV Therapy is advantageous. Certification in Oncology Chemotherapy and Biological Therapy must be obtained within 90 days of employment. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
Desired Skills:
- Proficient IV insertion skills.
- Familiarity with chemotherapeutic agents and central venous catheter devices.
- Understanding of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) processes and ICD-9 coding.
- Strong communication abilities and capacity to work independently within a collaborative team environment.
Working Conditions:
Physical demands include light effort, with the ability to exert up to 10 lbs. of force. The work environment is generally pleasant with minimal occupational risk.

Salary Range: $72.83 Hourly
