Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Anderson County Detention Center. As a correctional nurse, you will be responsible for providing medical care to detainees, administering medications, and performing various medical procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide patient treatments, such as blood pressure checks, glucose monitoring, and weight checks, as ordered by a licensed medical provider.
  • Administer ordered medications to inmates as directed by a licensed medical provider and approved by the medical director.
  • Carry out nursing care plans on inmates as prescribed or directed by a licensed medical provider.
  • Ensure security of area and medications while administration is occurring, and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Complete initial and ongoing screening on detained individuals upon admission into a correctional setting.
  • Explain procedures and treatment protocols to patients.

Requirements

  • Current LPN licensure in the state of employment or ability to obtain license.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification.
  • Correctional nursing experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance, including a drug screen and criminal background check.
