This role involves initiating new accounts, processing loan applications, and addressing customer inquiries while identifying opportunities to strengthen existing banking connections. The Senior Banking Associate embodies Civista Bank's commitment to enhancing the financial well-being of our clients and stakeholders, making a positive impact in the communities we serve.
Key Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Engage with customers daily to foster relationships. This includes executing transactions, evaluating needs, suggesting products, and connecting customers with relevant partners to create a superior banking experience.
- Comply with regulations, adhering to policies and procedures to ensure the safety and integrity of both customers and the bank.
- Cultivate a comprehensive understanding of products and services to meet customer needs, driving sales performance. Tasks include, but are not limited to, opening new consumer deposit and lending accounts, establishing new business accounts, performing account maintenance, achieving cross-sell objectives, and resolving issues efficiently.
- Grasp all facets of consumer lending and new account processes in daily and weekly activities; build customer trust and manage relationships throughout the customer lifecycle.
- Commit to personal development through continuous learning. Adapt to new processes and systems to support organizational and team growth.
- Ensure operational tasks are completed consistently and accurately on a daily basis.
- Maintain cash levels and manage outages within established guidelines.
- Foster ongoing communication both internally and externally.
- Promote the use of technology in everyday banking interactions, including educating customers on technology, mobile banking, P2P, and online banking.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:
- 3-5 years of prior teller experience is required.
- Exceptional oral, written, and presentation skills.
- Detail-oriented with the capacity to work under deadlines amidst frequent interruptions.
- High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- Above-average technological proficiency and a willingness to adapt to new software technologies.
- Ability to function effectively under deadlines with frequent interruptions.
Physical Requirements:
- Role involves eye strain due to regular use of computer screens and report reading.
- Ability to concentrate on tasks despite potentially distracting work conditions.
- Capability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Proficient in reading, hearing, writing, and communicating professionally both in person and via telephone.
- Some travel may be required for meetings and training.
