Job Summary

Catalent Pharma Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Senior Formulation Scientist to join our team in Greendale. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for developing and evaluating new products, including pre-formulation excipient compatibility studies, formulation development, process development, and scale-up manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and drive the development and evaluation of new products, including pre-formulation excipient compatibility studies, formulation development, process development, and scale-up manufacturing.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to individuals, functional areas, and the overall organization as required.
  • Ensure appropriate technical review and oversight for portfolio projects/programs as required.
  • Effectively communicate on a timely basis with management, other departments within Catalent, and customers on the coordination of development activities, results, and next steps of the studies.
  • Operate under and maintain GMP/GLP, health, and safety conditions and practices.
  • Maintain and improve compliance with training, best practices, safety, and cleaning requirements.
  • Represent functional areas and projects by leading discussions at local, technical, governance, executive, and customer meetings.
  • Lead Catalent's strategies, initiatives, expectations, processes, and portfolio commitments.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in food science, food engineering, pharmaceutical science, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in food preparation/food industry (preferably in the confectionery industry) or M.S. in food science, food engineering, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated leadership in product development of supplements and confection.
  • Experience working in a dietary supplement manufacturing, food, and/or pharmaceutical facility.
  • Experience developing confectionery-based products.
  • Familiarity with typical formulation and analytical approaches for dietary supplement development.
  • Must be able to work extended hours, weekends as needed, especially when problems occur or when deadlines must be met.
  • Requires experience in troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are essential in dealing with people at all levels and in a variety of functional areas; able to influence and motivate others to quickly achieve results.
