Job Summary

The Product Design Engineer is responsible for matters related to product design and development, including research, design, improvement, problem-solving, and testing. This role requires a strong understanding of small arms design and manufacturing methods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement product design concepts, ensuring cost, quality, and schedule are met.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage product development programs and ensure successful project execution.
  • Design and evaluate new products and components, using sound engineering methods to determine correct functioning and working stress.
  • Investigate and introduce product improvements, generating CAD product drawings and Bills of Materials as needed.
  • Perform and coordinate Engineering Change Notices across inter-departmental functions.
  • Support innovation through patents, trademarks, design, and authorship's rights, managing and applying for intellectual property protection as appropriate.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3-5 years mechanical experience, with CAD experience in two-dimensional drafting and 3D solid design.
  • Project management experience in a cross-functional environment.
  • Experience in small arms design and function.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to physically and safely test, evaluate, and maintain various firearms, including pistols, rifles, and shotguns. The ability to lift 50 lbs is also required.
