Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled CARDIOVASCULAR NURSE SPECIALIST to join our dynamic team at The George Washington University Hospital. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with opportunities for growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personalized care to patients recovering from cardiovascular surgeries, procedures, and heart-related conditions in a stepdown setting.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
- Monitor patients' conditions, recognizing signs of instability, and respond effectively to changes in status.
- Administer medications, perform treatments, and assist with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to established protocols.
- Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatments, and discharge plans, promoting heart health and long-term recovery.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient care, ensuring adherence to hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to enhance patient outcomes and ensure continuity of care throughout the patient journey.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure best practices and continuous improvement in care delivery.
- Serve as a resource and mentor to new RNs and nursing students, contributing to a culture of excellence in nursing practice.
