Job Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist II

Pride Health is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist II to join our team in a dynamic clinical laboratory environment. In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering quality patient care by performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing based on established criteria.
  • Perform routine and complex technical procedures according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Make informed technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving.
  • Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls as necessary.
  • Report accurate and timely test results to facilitate quality patient care.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and quality control procedures, documenting as required.
  • Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as needed.
  • Assist with the processing of specimens when necessary.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to safety protocols by wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements.
  • A minimum of 2-4 years of clinical laboratory testing experience is required.
  • State Medical Technologist license may be required (to be specified based on local regulations).
  • ASCP or AMT certification is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficient with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail along with excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Must pass a standardized color vision screening.
  • Flexibility to work overtime or alternate shifts based on business needs.

Additional Comments:

  • Training: Initial training will be conducted during day shift hours for 1-2 weeks.
  • Screening: Color Vision Screening and TB Screening will be required.
  • Vaccine Requirement: Hepatitis B vaccination declination form accepted.
