This role involves overseeing the installation, operation, and upkeep of fire sprinkler systems. As a lead technician, you will guide a team in the field, ensuring proper installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of fire sprinkler and life safety systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on fire suppression systems.
  • Conduct service and inspections on wet, dry, and pre-action fire suppression systems.
  • Install, maintain, repair, or replace fire sprinkler systems in compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Engage with clients professionally and courteously.
  • Upgrade and install fire sprinklers in both commercial and residential properties.
  • Test and repair existing alarm systems.
  • Ensure alarm installations meet code requirements through thorough inspections.
  • Document inspection results and any issues in detailed reports.
  • Safeguard and maintain company equipment.
  • Inspect and maintain the service vehicle and related tools, submitting repair requests as needed.
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely, adhering to all safety regulations.
  • Follow company safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Respond to emergency service requests promptly.
  • Maintain a tidy and safe work environment.
  • Work independently and follow directions effectively.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by management.


Qualifications:

  • Preferred NICET certification (requires prior experience or training).
  • Familiarity with NFPA standards is advantageous.
  • Experience with both commercial and residential fire systems.
  • Ability to lead and manage teams on projects.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Clean driving record and reliable transportation required.
  • Flexibility in scheduling, including potential evening and weekend work.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Ability to review documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Capability to identify and report discrepancies during inspections.
  • Proficient in interpreting and applying applicable regulations.
  • Strong record-keeping and reporting skills.
  • Ability to follow both oral and written instructions.
  • Experience with small/light equipment, including power tools and ladders.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • This position requires standing, walking, and using hands frequently, as well as the ability to lift and move heavy objects.
  • Physical abilities required include balancing, climbing, and visual acuity.
