Job Summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Fire Sprinkler Technician to join our team. As a key member of our fire protection services team, you will be responsible for leading the installation, operation, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems in commercial and residential buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance on fire sprinkler systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with industry standards.
  • Service and inspect wet, dry, and pre-action fire suppression systems to identify and address any issues or defects.
  • Install, maintain, repair, or replace fire sprinkler equipment and systems in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner to provide exceptional service and support.
  • Install or upgrade fire sprinklers in commercial and residential buildings to ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.
  • Test and repair alarm systems to ensure they are functioning properly and meet industry standards.
  • Perform inspections to ensure alarms are installed according to code and provide detailed reports of findings.
  • Complete detailed inspection reports, documenting any issues and report results of work completed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Protect and maintain company equipment and vehicles to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Inspect and maintain the truck and all related equipment, putting in repair requests as necessary to maintain safe operation.
  • Operate warehouse equipment, including vehicles, in a way that facilitates the loading and unloading of the truck while observing all safety regulations and manufacturer's safety instructions for that equipment.
  • Work in a safe manner as outlined by company safety procedures, including driver safety and personal protective equipment.
  • Respond to emergency service calls to provide prompt and effective support.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace to ensure a healthy and productive environment.
  • Ability to follow direction and work independently when needed.
  • Perform other duties assigned by management to support the success of the team.
Requirements
  • National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards, including 70 and 72.
  • Experience with commercial and residential fire suppression systems.
  • Ability to act in a lead capacity and manage teams or groups of individuals on projects.
  • Troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues with fire sprinkler systems.
  • Good interpersonal skills to work effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • Must have a clean driving record and reliable transportation to/from the office or job site.
  • Must be flexible with scheduling requirements that occasionally will require evening, weekend, and/or out-of-town assignments.
  • Ability to display knowledge of principles, practices, codes, and regulations related to fire protection systems.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.
  • Ability to use or repair small/light equipment, such as power tools, ladders, medium equipment, and machinery.
