Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Director, Health System Finance & Controller to lead our financial operations. As the Senior Accounting Officer, you will oversee essential functions, including General Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Payroll. This role is crucial in our academic health system, which includes the region's only Level 1 Trauma Center and Children's Hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure accurate financial reporting and safeguard the system's assets.
  • Provide strategic financial guidance to executives, physicians, and staff, facilitating informed decision-making and driving key initiatives across the organization.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial statements, conduct complex financial analyses, and work closely with external auditors.
  • Develop and maintain formal MU Health Care policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure the integrity of all financial data in the general ledger.
  • Oversee the development, coordination, and maintenance of daily staffing schedules to ensure the appropriate level of coverage.
  • Direct the implementation and oversight of MU Health Care time and attendance policies and practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, or a related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) by the Missouri Board of Accountancy or another state board (active or inactive).
  • Three (3) years of relevant healthcare leadership experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in accounting, business, finance, or a related field.
  • External audit background with public accounting experience.
