Key Responsibilities:- Conduct physical inspections of food establishments and institutional facilities to identify potential health hazards and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Collect and analyze data to identify trends and patterns in foodborne illness outbreaks and other public health issues.
- Develop and implement strategies to prevent and control foodborne illness outbreaks and other public health issues.
- Provide education and training to food establishment owners and employees on proper food handling and sanitation practices.
- Collaborate with other health department staff to develop and implement public health policies and programs.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as environmental health, public health, or a related field.
- Registration as a Sanitarian-In-Training with the Oklahoma State Department of Health.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
