About the Role

Soliant Education is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team in the South Euclid area. This is a full-time, school year contract position that offers a chance to make a meaningful difference in students' educational journeys.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs): Create and implement tailored education plans for students with special needs, taking into account their unique learning requirements and goals.
  • Modify and Adapt Teaching Strategies and Materials: Utilize diverse teaching approaches and materials to meet the varied learning needs of students, ensuring that all students have access to a high-quality education.
  • Collaborate with General Education Teachers, Parents, and Other Professionals: Work closely with colleagues, parents, and other professionals to support student success, share best practices, and ensure a cohesive educational experience.
  • Monitor and Assess Student Progress: Regularly monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and making necessary adjustments to teaching approaches to ensure students meet their learning goals.
  • Maintain Detailed Records of Student Performance and Progress: Accurately maintain records of student performance and progress, using this data to inform instruction and make data-driven decisions.
  • Create and Sustain a Positive and Inclusive Classroom Environment: Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth, and is conducive to learning.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or a Related Field: Possess a Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field, with a strong foundation in special education principles and practices.
  • Masters Degree in Special Education or a Related Field (Preferred): A Master's degree in Special Education or a related field is preferred, demonstrating advanced knowledge and skills in special education.
  • Valid Ohio Teaching License with Special Education Endorsement: Hold a valid Ohio teaching license with a Special Education endorsement, ensuring compliance with state and national standards.
  • Proven Experience Working with Students with Special Needs: Possess proven experience working with students with special needs, demonstrating a commitment to inclusive education and a passion for supporting students with diverse learning requirements.
  • Strong Communication and Teamwork Skills: Exhibit strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and other professionals to support student success.
  • Ability to Design and Implement Effective Individualized Teaching Plans: Demonstrate the ability to design and implement effective individualized teaching plans, taking into account the unique learning needs and goals of students.
