Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Medical Assistant to join our team at Adelante Healthcare. As a Senior Medical Assistant, you will provide direct patient care and customer service, working closely with our healthcare team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare for patient appointments by reviewing and updating patient records, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Interview patients to obtain reason for visit, chief complaint, and document in electronic medical record following MA workflow protocols.
  • Obtain and record patients' vital signs according to protocol for patients' age.
  • Prepare exam rooms and patients for exams/procedures, maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA policies.
  • Document accurately all patient information in electronic health record, communicating effectively with patients and care team members.
  • Administer medications, immunizations, and perform testing as indicated, following established protocols and procedures.
  • Mentor Associate Medical Assistants, participating in orientation, mentoring, and training of staff.
  • Assist with medication and vaccine management, and provide backup support during times of absence.
Requirements
  • Certification to perform cardiopulmonary Resuscitation for the Health Care Professional (CPR) and AED through courses following American Heart Association and Red Cross guidelines.
  • Valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety for all specialty behavioral health locations.
  • Graduation from an approved medical assistant training program with three or more years' experience.
  • Effective communication skills, including ability to read, interpret, comprehend, and comply with written and verbal communication.
  • Proficient mathematical skills for use in a healthcare setting.
  • Advanced computer proficiency, including Windows, MS Office, internet, and electronic medical record.
  • Ability to problem-solve independently or with support from team and/or leadership.
  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a high-stress and fast-moving environment.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license, with compliance with Arizona vehicle insurance requirements.

The employee may be subject to health hazards (contagious diseases, blood-borne pathogens, etc.) when working in the clinic area.
