About the Job

Bonneville County is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and rebuilding of county mechanized gas and diesel equipment.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Performing routine maintenance, repairs, and rebuilds of mechanized equipment and facilities
  • Troubleshooting and analyzing malfunctions using technical and computerized testing equipment
  • Maintaining inventory of service materials and parts, including oil, filters, welding supplies, and iron
  • Performing as a department purchasing agent and placing orders as needed
  • Assisting with shop layout and maintaining general shop, equipment, and inventory security and control
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong diagnostic skills and ability to communicate effectively
  • Experience in major repair of gas and diesel equipment
  • Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
  • ASE certification as a journey-level or master mechanic
  • A valid Idaho Class A Commercial Driver's License
