Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team at PMI Kyoto Packaging Systems Inc. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of ACH payments for vendors and employee reimbursements.
  • Providing detailed information regarding employee reimbursement payments.
  • Updating cash flow forecasts for outgoing payments.
  • Managing monthly financial closing processes.
  • Registering new fixed assets and calculating depreciation for all fixed assets.
  • Registering new prepayment items and calculating monthly allocations and entries.
  • Compiling Job Cost Valuation Schedules by calculating labor hours from the database.
  • Conducting bank reconciliations.
  • Overseeing year-end closing activities.
  • Compiling and maintaining an accurate inventory list.
  • Responding to inquiries from external auditors regarding cash, deposits, and payables.
  • Providing additional support as requested by the Director of Finance.
  • Registering sales orders for parts, services, and warranties.
  • Invoicing for parts, services, and warranties.
  • Processing cash receipts for collections related to parts, services, and warranties invoices.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in Accounting or Finance.
  • Additional certifications such as CPA or CMA are advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of accounting regulations and procedures, including GAAP.
  • Experience with accounting software like QuickBooks or Sage is beneficial.
  • Proficient in Excel, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables, along with other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication across the organization.
