Compensation: Up to $15.00 per hour

Objective: To execute a range of cleaning and maintenance tasks essential for the upkeep and functionality of the Museum's facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Daily cleaning and stocking of all restroom facilities.
  2. Prepare studios and meeting spaces based on instructor requirements as per the schedule, including changing paper coverings, arranging chairs, easels, and other furnishings, mopping floors, and cleaning sinks as necessary.
  3. Remove all waste from the premises on a daily basis.
  4. Replace burnt-out light bulbs as required.
  5. Vacuum carpets and rugs in lobbies, galleries, and offices, performing spot cleaning as needed.
  6. Dust-mop or sweep all floors throughout the facilities as necessary.
  7. Wash windows and glass doors on a daily basis.
  8. Polish stainless steel elevators weekly or as needed.
  9. Wet mop all floors as necessary and refinish as directed.
  10. Set up and dismantle event furniture according to the calendar and specifications outlined in Event Orders.
  11. Conduct snow removal on stairs and entrance areas; shovel and apply ice melt as needed.
  12. Deliver boxes from the mailroom to staff throughout the facility.
  13. Assist staff with the movement and arrangement of office furniture.
  14. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Knowledge and Skills:

  • General understanding of maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Capability to climb ladders and work at heights up to 8 feet.
  • Ability to navigate stairs.
  • Capacity to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in dirty or dusty environments and/or outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
  • Professional interaction with all levels of staff and the public.
  • Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion initiatives.

Education:

Basic reading and math skills required.

Experience:

Up to one year in a similar role preferred.

Special Requirements:

  • Hepatitis B Vaccination or Waiver.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends to support the Museum's various events occurring seven days a week.
  • Completion of a physical exam.
