Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care to individuals with developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor the health and well-being of individuals in their assigned worksite, detecting changes in condition or responses to medication or therapy.
  • Identify symptoms of illnesses and changes in conditions, reporting them to a physician or registered nurse for diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Administer medications, including injectables, j-tube, and g-tube feedings, as assigned.
  • Implement and monitor g-tube and j-tube feedings, including changing g-tubes as necessary.
  • Perform catheterization orders, trach care, deep oral and pharyngeal suctioning, and other direct care duties as assigned.
  • Prepare and maintain charts and records, documenting conditions and activities.
  • Perform inventory of medical supplies and medications, ordering new supplies as needed.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess a valid Driver's license and be able to obtain a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State. You must also be able to work in a fast-paced environment and provide excellent patient care.
