Job Summary:

Masis Professional Group is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team in the Springfield, Massachusetts area. This is a long-term contract position with potential for temp-to-hire and 100% onsite work.

Compensation:

The salary for this position is up to $45 per hour based on experience, which translates to an annualized salary of $90,000 or more.

Work Schedule:

The selected candidate will work 100% onsite, Monday through Friday, during standard business hours (generally 8:00am to 4:30pm).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently process Requests for Proposal (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and Requests for Quotation (RFQs) to support business owners with specific project needs.
  • Process purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and ensure compliance with purchasing guidelines.
  • Source new product streams, acquire new vendors, and develop innovative strategies to optimize procurement processes.
  • Manage data related to purchases and contracts, and work to develop purchasing standard methodologies.

Requirements:

  • At least 7 years of purchasing experience is required, with a proven track record of managing RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs, processing requisitions and purchase orders, managing vendor relationships, and implementing cost reduction and consolidation strategies.
  • Hands-on experience working through all facets of the purchasing cycle, either in a manual or automated process.
  • Strong command of purchasing management fundamentals, including procurement planning, sourcing, and contract management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to different personalities and work effectively with internal and external customers/vendors.
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Adobe Pro, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and MS Word.
  • Experience working with Lawson ERP systems is preferred but not required.
  • Experience working in the electric industry is also preferred but not required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field is preferred.
