The Clinical Care Specialist provides high-quality patient care and services to patients in the Neurocritical Care Unit. This role involves performing history and physical exams, consulting with supervising physicians, and providing follow-up and health maintenance care to patients.
Responsibilities
- Perform history and physical exams on new and established patients
- Consult with supervising physician as needed
- Provide follow-up and health maintenance care to patients
- Initiate treatment and testing required for illness evaluation
- Provide counseling and instruction to patients
- Document clinical care of patient
- Perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures as directed by supervising physician
- Communicate with patients and family members in accordance with confidentiality guidelines
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant studies or related field
- 1 year experience as a Physician Assistant
- PA licensure and certification
- Ongoing board certification as required for licensure
Work Environment
- Working indoors 67% or more
- Exposure to mechanical and electrical hazards
- Tasks involving exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues
- Light work
