Job Title: Production Operations Manager

Buhler Group is seeking an experienced and skilled Production Operations Manager to drive international operations to new levels of excellence. This role is pivotal in managing production capacity, critical drawings, and supplier qualifications, as well as training staff on assembly and quality procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the transfer and updates of critical drawings between BSCI and Buhler entities
  • Coordinate facility and investment requirements with local Buhler entities
  • Design and implement efficient manufacturing process flows between suppliers and local teams
  • Oversee remote training of production and quality procedures by BSCI personnel
  • Train local applications engineers and service personnel
  • Organize vendor approvals and manage the qualification process of final products produced at overseas Buhler facilities
  • Ensure the smooth flow of inquiries to orders and orders to shipments
  • Integrate essential production and quality data into BSCI core business systems

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge of machining techniques and assembly processes, particularly of vacuum-related equipment
  • Ability to identify and manage risk effectively
  • Business and financial acumen
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to read and interpret prints with strong attention to detail
  • General project management skills, including scheduling, cost planning, and tracking
  • Strong moderation skills for meetings, risk analysis, and reviews
  • Ability to foster creativity and innovation within the team
  • Willingness to travel

A bachelor's degree in engineering is preferred. Proficiency in SolidWorks is also a plus. This is a full-time position requiring significant international travel. You will be traveling overseas at least 30% of the time, with peaks as high as 50%. When not traveling, your primary work location will be in Owatonna, MN.
