Product Technician Job Description

Wenger Corporation is seeking a skilled Product Technician to join our manufacturing team in Owatonna, MN. As a Product Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine materials inspection/handling, routine machine operations, assembly, basic quality control, and packing/shipping prep under limited supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reviews work assignments, paperwork, and other documentation/directions to facilitate efficient time and activity management.
  • Performs manufacturing processes assigned according to established policies, procedures, and standards of the area.
  • Checks completed work for conformance with specifications, noting and forwarding Defective Material Report (DMR) data for decision and action by others.
  • Establishes quality and quantity standards, consistently meeting or exceeding them to minimize downtime and/or rework.
  • Confers with Manager or department Lead to share information, observations, and recommendations for improvements in processes.
  • Maintains the assigned area in a clean, orderly condition to minimize safety hazards and lost-time accidents.
  • Contributes to a cooperative work effort through performance of assigned duties in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of manufacturing processes, minimizes uncertainty, and facilitates organization of materials and tools.
  • Provides general guidance and assistance for trainees in a manner that contributes to their development and overall results being achieved.
Requirements:
  • 3-6 months manufacturing experience.
  • Experience training others.
  • Experience understanding engineering drawings.
  • Experience performing mechanical assembly.
  • Experience performing electrical assembly.
  • Experience operating machinery.
