Position Summary

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a highly skilled Dosimetrist to join our team. As a Dosimetrist, you will play a critical role in ensuring that patients receive accurate and precise radiation treatments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design patient treatment plans and prepare dose calculations using computers, calculators, and manual techniques for external beam treatment planning.
  • Consult with physicians and therapists to ensure the accuracy of patient information and dose calculations.
  • Collaborate with radiation therapy staff to assess and improve patient treatments and/or set-up techniques.
  • Share results and recommendations with your supervisor, as appropriate.
  • Assist radiation therapists with patient set-up procedures at treatment machine and/or simulator as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus Certification as a Medical Dosimetrist by the Medical Dosimetry Certification Board (MDCB) or eligible after completion of JRCERT accredited program in Medical Dosimetry.
