Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiation Dosimetrist to join our team at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. As a key member of our radiation oncology department, you will be responsible for designing patient treatment plans and preparing dose calculations using advanced computer systems and manual techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with radiation oncologists and medical physicists to calculate and deliver precise radiation doses to treat tumors while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissues.
  • Consult with physicians and therapists to ensure accuracy of patient information and dose calculations.
  • Design and implement patient treatment plans, including external beam treatment planning.
  • Assist radiation therapists with patient setup procedures at treatment machines and/or simulators as needed.
  • Monitor and adhere to general radiation safety guidelines.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, plus certification as a Medical Dosimetrist by the Medical Dosimetry Certification Board (MDCB) or eligibility after completion of a JRCERT-accredited program in Medical Dosimetry.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
