Ultrasound Technologist PRN

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team on a PRN basis. As a member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing general sonographic procedures in accordance with department protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain high-quality scans in relation to patient body habitus and/or NPO prep status
  • Follow proper exam protocols as outlined in department Policy and Procedure manual
  • Review images on Ultrasound machine or IMPAX (PACS) and thoroughly fill out Ultrasound worksheet in a timely manner
  • Rescan patient as requested by Radiologist
  • Complete exams in a timely manner
  • Properly and consistently evaluate patient prep status and schedule exam accordingly
  • Utilize computer system to update exam status, cancel/update orders as needed
  • Ensure charges match procedure completed
  • Confirm proper exam/patient assignment at QC before releasing images to PACS for interpretation
  • Correct erroneous accession numbers in PACS when needed
  • Notify Radiologist Facilitator (RF) and transmit required worksheet and requisition for all after-hours cases
