Clinical Medical Assistant

The Clinical Medical Assistant is a vital member of our healthcare team, providing direct and indirect patient care in the clinic under the direction and supervision of the Nurse Manager. This role requires strong teamwork and communication skills, as well as the ability to work well with every member of the clinical team to ensure optimal outcomes for patients' health.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct and indirect patient care in the clinic, including obtaining vital signs, performing waived lab analysis, and administering medications as directed by the provider.
• Assist with diagnostic and treatment procedures, such as colposcopy, LEEP, and ultrasound, under the supervision of the Nurse Manager.
• Participate in staff outreach and off-site healthcare programs as requested by the CCO or CEO, representing Central Florida Health Care in the community.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical history, test results, and treatment plans.
• Perform phlebotomy and finger stick procedures as permitted by training, and prepare and administer medications as directed by the provider.
• Screen patients according to CFHC's protocols, including obtaining height, weight, vital signs, and vision/hearing testing, and perform any other procedures directed by the supervising Clinician, Clinical Administrator, or Nurse Manager.
Requirements:
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program from an accredited school.
• Certification or registration through a recognized accrediting body, such as the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or the American Medical Technologists (AMT).
• BLS Certification.
• Experience preferred, but not required.
• Computer literacy and ability to function with a high degree of independence and collaboration with other healthcare providers.
Physical Requirements:
This role requires 80% or more time spent standing/walking, and the ability to lift weight equivalents that would be required with occasionally assisting and positioning patients, repositioning equipment, and lifting supplies. The ability to adapt and function in varying environments of workload, patient acuity, worksites, and work shifts is also essential.
