Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Health Systems Specialist to join our team at the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration. This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of healthcare delivery systems and operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide analytical support to the Associate Director of Patient Care Services by evaluating and advising on healthcare delivery systems and operations.
  • Coordinate assignments across various specialty areas and echelons of the ADPCS program.
  • Participate in the stewardship and responsibility for operations of the organization, executing the vision for healthcare delivery.
  • Work closely with senior management officials to implement and evaluate policies, plans, and internal operational systems.
  • Address specific problem areas and apply analytical ability and specialized healthcare knowledge to manage healthcare delivery systems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or graduate degree in a related field, such as hospital administration, public health administration, or business administration.
  • Progressively responsible analytical or administrative experience in the healthcare field, with a focus on healthcare delivery systems and operations.
  • Expert knowledge of healthcare policies, processes, and procedures, as well as quality improvement programs and accrediting bodies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to plan, organize, and direct team work.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, with the ability to prepare and present briefings and reports.
Working Conditions

The work is primarily sedentary, with some walking, bending, and carrying of light items required. Some travel between the medical center and CBOCs may be necessary.
