Job Title: Graduate Mining Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Mining Engineer to join our team at Northern Star (Pogo) LLC. As a Graduate Mining Engineer, you will play a critical role in assisting the Mine Engineering team with operational and engineering requirements.

Job Summary:

The Graduate Mining Engineer will be responsible for creating mining instructions, conducting post-mining reconciliation reviews, and participating in daily crew safety meetings. You will also be involved in developing short-term mining schedules and presenting them to the technical and operating team.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Mine Engineering team with operational and engineering requirements
  • Create mining instructions for the direction of operational activities
  • Conduct post-mining reconciliation reviews
  • Participate in daily crew safety meetings
  • Develop short-term mining schedules and present them to the technical and operating team
Requirements:
  • Degree majoring in Mining Engineering from a recognized tertiary institution
  • Current Driver's License
  • Minimum 1 year relevant experience in the mining industry or proof of mine site intern work
  • Computer literacy Microsoft Office (extensive Excel skills required)
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent data analysis skills
  • Demonstrate ability to maintain or exceed best industry practice in all engineering tasks
  • Awareness of the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) Act & Regulations

Working Conditions:

Employees are required to stay on site at the company-provided camp during the work rotation. Camp facilities provide dining service, games room, exercise & weight room, sauna, and accommodation rooms. Dormitory rooms have a landline phone, great Wi-Fi & cable TV. Cell service is available through Wi-Fi. The Company provides a bus service to and from Fairbanks, Delta Junction, and Tok, Alaska.
