We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Museum Custodial Specialist to join our team at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. As a key member of our custodial staff, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our museum spaces, ensuring that they are safe and welcoming for visitors and staff alike.

About the Job

This is a full-time position that requires a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as previous experience in a commercial janitorial capacity. You must be able to lift 25 lbs minimum and perform a variety of physical tasks, including lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, stair climbing, and walking between buildings.

Duties and Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Cleaning public and staff spaces, including galleries, exhibition areas, and administrative offices;
  • Cleaning employee and public restrooms, disinfecting toilets and sinks, mopping floors, polishing stainless steel surfaces, replacing towels and soap;
  • Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing, emptying trash, and replacing liners;
  • Performing other duties as assigned by management.
Working Conditions

You will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and deadlines. You may be required to work occasional overtime, weekends, and holidays. A valid Texas driver's license is not required, but a reliable mode of transportation is preferred.

Estimated Salary

The estimated salary for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
