Role Summary
The Instructor for the Nurse Aide Training Program is responsible for delivering high-quality education and fostering a supportive learning atmosphere. This role emphasizes the importance of teaching, guiding, and assessing students effectively. The instructor will oversee the educational process and ensure that learning outcomes are met in accordance with departmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Conducts assigned courses as an independent contractor, delivering curriculum that nurtures student talent while employing inclusive teaching methodologies that recognize the diverse backgrounds of students.
2. Tailors learning activities to accommodate individual student needs and promotes a variety of effective educational strategies.
3. Utilizes technology appropriately to enhance course objectives and clearly communicates expectations regarding its use to students.
4. Maintains accurate records in compliance with departmental guidelines.
5. Tracks attendance, assigns grades promptly, and provides ongoing feedback to students regarding their progress throughout the course.
6. Ensures classes are conducted punctually and follows the established schedule, employing suitable assessment methods to evaluate student performance.
7. Participates in regular meetings with departmental staff to discuss instructional responsibilities.
8. Performs additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Must be a currently licensed Registered Nurse without restrictions.
- At least two years (3200 hours) of nursing experience, with a minimum of one year (1600 hours) in long-term care settings.
- Must possess a current Ohio Train the Trainer (TTT) certification or be eligible to complete the course prior to starting the position.
- Valid State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or the ability to access various work locations.
