Job Overview:
This role is dedicated to the upkeep and repair of the fleet within the northern district, which encompasses a variety of vehicles including cars, trucks, buses, and heavy machinery. The technician will also be tasked with minor equipment overhauls, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of fleet and grounds equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and rectify vehicle and equipment issues, ensuring repairs meet or exceed industry standards.
- Execute repair requests from clients, including routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake inspections, and tire services.
- Inspect vehicles and equipment to identify necessary repairs or safety concerns not noted in the initial request.
- Maintain and repair all grounds equipment, ensuring operational efficiency.
- Document all work accurately in the designated management systems and produce work orders as required.
- Conduct inventory checks on essential supplies and maintain compliance with hazardous waste disposal regulations.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by managing the fleet process in accordance with departmental policies.
- Ensure fleet vehicles are clean, safe, and operationally ready.
- Perform snow removal duties as needed.
- Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a minimum of two years of experience in diagnosing, servicing, and repairing vehicles.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification.
- Experience with small engine repair and maintenance.
- Familiarity with Colorado Automotive Reporting System (CARS).
- Experience with diesel-powered emergency generators.
- Experience with light-duty diesel trucks.
- Successful completion of a comprehensive background check.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
- Willingness to undergo an annual influenza vaccination or provide documentation for exemption.
- Availability for call back and shift work as required.
