Job Summary:

The Community Facilitator will serve as the front line desk area in the Residential Life department, providing exceptional customer service to students and families. This role will be responsible for managing the operations of all residence halls and apartments, including student maintenance and RA programming.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide positive customer service to students and families, addressing their needs, interests, and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the residence halls and apartments, including student maintenance and RA programming.
  • Handle filing, receiving, making copies, and mailing out room contracts, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assist with residence hall tours, meal changes, and welfare checks, providing a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate student check ins/outs, room assignments, room checks, and room reservations, ensuring seamless transitions.
  • Open and close the residence halls, ensuring a secure and welcoming environment.
  • Complete incident and maintenance reports, providing detailed and accurate information.
  • Pack and inventory residents' room upon sudden departure, maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Order and receive supplies and process mail, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
  • Support the Conduct Office with delivery of letters, investigations, and other items as needed, maintaining confidentiality and discretion.
  • Participate in Residential Life on-call duty rotation as needed, providing 24/7 support.
  • Respond appropriately to confidential matters, making proper referrals to university offices as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to excellence.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
  • Evidences a history of demonstrating ethical and professional behavior.
  • Previous experience working with young adults in a helping relationship.
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and make contact with both internal and external constituents.
  • Must maintain the integrity of confidential information.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively recognize and resolve conflict.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a positive attitude in both oral and written communications.
  • Excellent listening skills and customer responsiveness are essential, continually incorporating feedback, ideas, and requests.
  • Valid Oklahoma driver's license required if performing duties require the use of a personal or university vehicle.
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends.
  • Normal office physical environment; ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
