Nuclear Medicine Imaging Specialist

Nuclear Medicine Imaging Specialists administer radioactive drugs and perform imaging studies to diagnose and treat diseases. They prepare and administer radio pharmaceuticals to patients, operate imaging equipment to capture diagnostic images, and monitor patients for reactions to radio pharmaceuticals and ensure their safety. They also analyze and interpret images and communicate findings to physicians, and maintain equipment and adhere to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and administer radio pharmaceuticals to patients.
- Operate imaging equipment to capture diagnostic images.
- Monitor patients for reactions to radio pharmaceuticals and ensure their safety.
- Analyze and interpret images and communicate findings to physicians.
- Maintain equipment and adhere to safety protocols.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or related field.
- Certification from ARRT or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
- Strong technical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and patient care skills.
