We are seeking a highly motivated Interventional Cardiology physician to join our Cardiology Medicine team at the Hershel "Woody" Williams Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to provide excellent care to our US Veterans and contribute to the success of our medical center.

The Hershel "Woody" Williams VA Medical Center is a fully accredited 80-bed acute medical and surgical care facility that provides primary care and specialty health services, including cardiology, PM & R, radiology, GI, neurology, mental health services, women's health care, prosthetics, bariatric surgery, pain management, palliative care, sleep medicine, and more.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct weekly Cardiology Clinics
  • Answer inpatient and outpatient consultations
  • Interpret and generate reports of all cardiology procedures
  • Teach medical students, residents, and fellows from the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine – Marshall University
  • Supervise Cardiology Fellows

Compensation and Benefits

  • Excellent compensation – Great base salary, based on qualifications, with annual performance pay, biennial market pay raises & annual cost of living pay raises
  • Sign-on Incentive available – Will be authorized for highly qualified applicants.
  • Student Loan Forgiveness (EDRP) - Up to $200,000 in student loan forgiveness available – based on work commitment
  • Excellent daily work schedule – Monday thru Friday – 8:00 am – 4:30 pm with potential for an occasional weekend

  • On-call coverage – One day per week
  • Malpractice – Free liability protection with tail coverage provided
  • Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restrictions on moonlighting
