Position Overview:

The role involves precise measurement, threading, and fitting of flanges on pipe segments. Responsibilities also include operating machinery and utilizing cranes for pipe handling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess fabrication specifications indicated on each pipe (5%)
  • Secure the pipe in the machine, ensuring proper alignment before machining tapered threads (30%)
  • Verify the fit of the flange onto the pipe post-threading, making necessary adjustments (10%)
  • Apply adhesive to the pipe and flange, then use machinery to secure the flange (20%)
  • Utilize cutting tools to ensure a flush fit of the flange on the pipe (30%)
  • Remove finished pipe from the machine and place it appropriately (5%)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in mathematical calculations and capable of using measuring tools
  • Understanding of machinery operations
  • Consistent attendance and punctuality

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Experience with machinery is advantageous

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • This position operates in a heavy industrial setting, with exposure to various conditions including heat, cold, noise, and vibration.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Physical activities may include standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing, driving, and sitting.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in the production area, including steel-toed footwear, safety glasses, and hearing protection as necessary.
