Mental Health Program Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Coordinator to join our team at Plaza de la Raza Child Development Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating mental health cases and related program services, working with consultants to assess client needs and develop mental health plans, and providing counseling and advising to families and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, organize, and coordinate mental health related services for Head Start/Early Head Start children, families, and staff.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and serve as an advocate for family and infant/toddler/child mental health issues.
- Provide counseling and advising, conflict resolution, and convey policies to uninformed persons.
- Coordinate and implement referral and tracking systems.
- Serve as a case manager and complete annual reports and monthly tracking and monitoring internal reports.
- Provide budgetary input for mental health service area.
- Assist staff in recognizing possible mental health problems and appropriate referrals and follow-through.
- Coordinate and implement staff/parent trainings.
- Provide mental health information at monthly Parent Policy Committee meetings.
- Interact with public and private service agencies to develop memorandums of understanding.
- Conduct home visits as needed.
- Complete and deliver written performance evaluations for new employees, annual performance appraisals, and professional development plans.
- Conduct ongoing monitoring activities of mental health services protocol to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Provide therapeutic sessions as needed.
- Work with other content specialists to address family needs and resources.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a social sciences field or behavioral health, mental health, psychology, or related field and a valid California license to practice.
- Four years of work experience in social services involving social work, family mental health, or psychological counseling, psychology, or related field.
- Successful completion of an initial health examination and proof of absence of Tuberculosis.
- Documentation of current immunizations against influenza, Mumps, Measles & Rubella (MMR), and Pertussis (TDAP).
