Key Responsibilities:
The essential duties of this role encompass:
- Delivering pharmaceutical care to ensure the health and safety of employees and clients.
- Accurately filling prescriptions while confirming physician instructions regarding medication dosages.
- Assessing patient medication interactions and contraindications.
- Ensuring precise dosage regimens are followed within established guidelines.
- Compounding and dispensing medications with accuracy for patient care.
- Providing timely and accurate prescription services.
- Educating medical staff and patients on medication use and safety.
- Participating in medical conferences as directed by the Chief Medical Officer.
- Safeguarding controlled substances and maintaining accurate records of dispensation and waste.
- Managing inventory levels of frequently used medications, including those necessary for emergency situations.
- Collaborating with logistics personnel to ensure critical medications are consistently available.
- Filing prescriptions post-fulfillment and supervising pharmacy technicians.
- Performing administrative tasks such as answering inquiries and organizing pharmacy supplies.
- Upholding a safe and clean work environment by adhering to established protocols and regulations.
- Maintaining patient confidentiality and compliance with privacy standards.
- Executing additional job-related responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A graduate degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy recognized by the state board or the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE) is required.
- Must possess and maintain an active, unrestricted Pharmacist License without any pending disciplinary actions, and be eligible for credentialing as per company policy.
- Recent clinical experience in patient care for at least six months within the past year is mandatory for all healthcare providers and support staff.
- Experience in both hospital and outpatient pharmacy settings, with proficiency in drug therapies for various patient populations.
- CPR certification is essential.
- Candidates should demonstrate strong multitasking abilities, attention to detail, organizational skills, and excellent communication capabilities.
- Proficiency in computer usage and familiarity with MS Office applications is required.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment is necessary.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing work requirements, including potential shift adjustments based on operational needs.
- A current U.S. passport is required.
