Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Viceroy Hotel Group is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Hotel Zena in Washington, DC.

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for maintaining the entire hotel facility, including the physical building structure, mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, and related equipment. This role will collaborate with other departments to ensure the upkeep of all guest areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Visually assess the safe and efficient maintenance and operation of the physical structure(s) of the hotel, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, and any other related equipment.
  • Verify completion of all assigned routine maintenance or other tasks on public spaces, meeting rooms, ballrooms, outlets, back of the house spaces, and grounds.
  • Verify completion of all repairs, replacement, and renovation projects to offices and employee work areas.
  • Follow prescribed safety procedures for personnel and equipment by the company and OSHA.
  • Maintain effective Energy Management and Preventive Maintenance programs and conduct special training, as directed, for other operating departments on the safe and efficient use of equipment and energy in the hotel.
  • Inform the Area Director of Engineering on a regular basis regarding the specific and overall condition of the building structure(s), related systems, and equipment offering prudent, cost-effective proposals for maintaining these systems.
  • Access and input information into a computer and generate reports.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors and/or Managers.

Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates, or permits.
  • OPEN AVAILABILITY – must be able to work any shift.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
  • Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity.
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
